The project presented a brief that is as practical as it is personal. The lower floors were to serve as commercial spaces — banks or retail shops — designed to attract business, project professionalism, and meet the functional demands of high-footfall commercial occupancy. The top floor, however, was reserved for something entirely different: the client's own private residence. Two worlds, stacked one upon the other, each with its own identity, its own demands, and its own relationship to the building's public face. The challenge was to design an elevation that honoured both — commercial in character where it needed to be, residential in feeling where it mattered most, and coherent as a single architectural composition throughout.
